The Ambassador - Message of greeting
Dear Visitor,
welcome to the homepage of the German Embassy in Asmara/Eritrea. We are
pleased to inform you about German-Eritrean relations and to provide you
with information concerning the Embassy`s work. Useful travel advice can
also be found.
The State of Eritrea is a very young country, actually the youngest
state in Africa. You will find kind and friendly people here and
numerous historical sites to visit, especially the picturesque capital
city Asmara, lying at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea-level.
Today Asmara represents the largest still preserved ensemble of modern
architecture in the world, the city center has been put under a
preservation order by the government.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions or
remarks concering our homepage.
