New Book Entitled ‘The Roads to Asmara’ Inaugurates

Asmara, 13 June 2016- A new book entitled ‘The Road to Asmara’ was inaugurated on June 10th, 2016.

The book written in the English language by Dr. Tekeste Fikadu consists 16 chapters and 302 pages and sheds light on the military, political, economic social and cultural aspects of the armed struggle for independence from 1984 – 1991. The author indicated that the book is a continuation of the previously published two books namely ‘A Journey from Nakfa to Nakfa’ and ‘The Tenacity and Resilience of Eritrea.’

In a speech he delivered during the inauguration event, the author said that the book tries to elucidate the challenges encountered and the historical achievements of the armed struggle. The objective of the books, he indicated is to transfer the history of the armed struggle to posterity.

Participants of the event commending the effort of the author expressed that the book will give a glimpse to foreigners about the history of Eritrea and the struggle of the Eritrean people for independence.

Likewise, another book of a collection of 54 poems entitled ‘Hiyab’ was also inaugurated at the same day.

The book written by Fitsum Fesehatsion sheds light on the social life of the Eritrean people, as well as political and socio-philosophical aspects of the society.
