Missing refugee brothers found safe and well in Germany

April 19, 2016

Two brothers missing from an asylum seekers’ centre in Limburg since the weekend have been found safe and well in Germany, police have confirmed to the Telegraaf.

Henok Hagos, 15, and his 11-year-old brother Mahteme Mulu Hagos were reported missing from their accommodation at the Landsrade bungalow park in Gulpen on Saturday.

Officials said the disappearance of the two boys, originally from Eritrea, was wholly unexpected. ‘It’s very rare for people to go missing from asylum seekers’ centres,’ said a spokesman for refugee organisation Vluchtelingenwerk.

According to the police, the boys were found in Aken, just over the border by Kerkrade and are in ‘good health’. They had gone off by themselves, the spokesman said.
