7 SA MTN QHUBEKA CYCLISTS ARRIVE TODAY

MBABANE – Seven cyclists from MTB Qhubeka cycling team would arrive today for the MTN Khemani Road Cycle Classic.
They are Metkel Eyob Teweldeberhan, Meron Teshome Hagos, Okubamariam Tesfom Issak, (All from Eritrea), Clint Trevino Hendricks, Gustav Basson, Stefan Jaco De Bod and Nicholas Dlamini. The race to feature a 100km, 50km, 20km and 5km children’s race will be held at Mabovini, Mankayane on Sunday. MTN Brand and Sponsorship Manager Fisiwe Vilane said the cyclists would be engaged in community projects tomorrow.
In total, MTN Qhubeka comes with a crew of 10 members including technical assistant Siyona Tanduxolo, Manager Mienie Marlin and Administration and Soigneur Terblanche Maritza.
“The MTN Qhubeka team arrives on Thursday (today). The rest of the visiting teams arrive on Friday (tomorrow) and will all be welcomed at a dinner to be held at the Convention Centre at 7:30pm. Local cyclists are also expected to be part of the dinner as it also offers a networking and mentorship opportunity,” Vilane he said.
The MTN Khemani race is sponsored to the tune of E300 000 by MTN Swaziland. There is E50 000 worth of prizes to be won. Registration will be open on Saturday at the Phela Live gym in Ezulwini from 10am to 8pm. It’s E100 for the 100km and E200 for the 50km race. It will be free to compete in the 5km children’s race and E50 for the 2km.
