Heading a delegation that includes representatives of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, Minister of International Cooperation Gerd Muller is in Eritrea for two-day visit starting on 14th December.

This morning Minister Gerd Muller met with Eritrea President Isaiss Afeworki at the State Palace where he expressed his happiness to be in Eritrea, praising the Eritrea model of development and work ethic.

They discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and as well as Eritrea developments, exchanging views on the situation in Horn of Africa.

Sisi meets German minister on economic coop.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday 14/12/2015 German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Muller.

Sisi lauded the bilateral ties binding Egypt and Germany pointing to the positive role played by Germany in support of Egypt.

President Sisi appreciated the German people who have a strong stamina and hard work as a top priority in life, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

German companies play a pivotal role in the Egyptian development process, Sisi said, adding that Egypt is trying to benefit from the German expertise in the economic and industrial domains.

For his part, the German minister proposed formation of a joint government committee to study means to boost economic cooperation in all fields.

The proposed committee will meet twice a year, said Youssef.

The meeting also dealt with issued of mutual concern, topped by the developments in Syria and Libya.

Sisi said political solutions to the current crises are needed to guarantee the unity and sovereignty of the states on their territories, according to the spokesman.

Sisi also praised the role played by Germany in receiving the Syrian refugees, noting that Egypt received hundreds of thousands of refugees from different countries.

The President highlighted the keenness of the Egyptian government to provide same level services it provides to the Egyptians to the refugees.
