On the evening of March 28th, 2015 the Eritreans of London Ontario came together to commemorate National Women`s Day, hosted by The London Eritrean Women`s Organization. Invitees from various cities were in attendance, such as Toronto & Woodstock.
The evening started off strong with speeches from various individuals; Hagher Feshazyon chairperson of the London Eritrean Women`s Day Organization and member Saba Haile. Additionally several members from the community including the younger generation, Hadegembes Khassi, Eritrea Tekie, Denait Haile and Luam Tekie.
Following the crown pleasing speeches, thanking and remembering all the women that completely adjusted, took on numerous roles and sacrificed their lives to fight for the freedom of their families and fellow Eritrean brothers and sisters, along with personal stories of some women during the struggle, a mouthwatering dinner was served followed by traditional coffee and dance.
The night was a success with the Eritrean Women, who fought, sacrificed, persevered and did their part tremendously, at the forefront and in keeping their legacy alive.
