On April the 3rd 2015, the 11th anual YPFDJ Conference held in Germany , was opened with an emotional ceremony , celebrating the beauty of our nations culture. The participants travelled from the European Countries, Eritrea, Sudan, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda and the United states.

The participants of YPFDJ Conferences take part in order to learn and discuss about the current situation in Eritrea as well as the situation of Eritreans who live in the Diaspora. The leading topic of this year’s conference is Human Trafficking and how we can build a bridge from the youth residing in Europe to the youth in Eritrea. As a part of the Opening Ceremony Poets and musicians show how they worked these topics into their individual art work. Apart from that, this year’s program was packed with workshops and seminars, which was officially opened by the speech of Semhar Gebreab

In her introductory speech, COC Chairwoman Semhar Gebreab welcomes all delegates. She speaks out her great relieve about the good work of the YPFDJ Members to make this event happen. She thanks all the guests who travelled to Germany from far and near, such as Betsay Yemane Ghebreab, the ambassadors, members of National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students. Looking back to the 10 year history, she points out that the Organisation grew stronger and bigger, against all odds. To the delegates, she presents one of the lead topics being the development of the youth in Eritrea and contributing to the nation building process by hard work, awareness and comradrie in the Diaspora

Following, Bitsay Saleh Ahmedin, Chairman of the NUEYS comes to the stage to speak to the delegates.

Much awaited by many is the speech held by Betsay Yemane Ghebreab, head of political affairs, PFDJ. With this speech he directly addresses the youth in the diaspora, pointing out how important their contribution is. He appreciated the hard work, but also doesn’t avoid to mention that the organisation is not close to where it should or could be. There is space to improve and he urges the members and delegates to do so and stay active.
