Public Transport Unit in Central region exerting endeavors to render effective service

Asmara, 26 March 2015 – Mr. Kibrom Segid, Managing Director of Public Transport in the Central region, explained that stepped-up efforts are being exerted with a view to rendering effective service through deploying the newly  imported modern buses.

He indicated that the substantial government investment in the transport sector is making significant contribution in strengthening and enhancing the service, thus giving impetus to the task of expanding service in remote areas of the region stretching about 34 Km. apart from the capital city.

Moreover, Mr. Kibrom pointed out that commendable service is being rendered in collaboration with the Technical Public Service Center, and that priority attention is being given to those areas where high number of passengers prevails.  Expert training courses have also been organized as part of endeavors to meet the demand for skilled manpower, he added.

It is to be noted that apart from bus service in the capital, Serejeka semi-urban center and the villages of Dekemhare Dimbezan, Arebe-Rebu’e, Wokerti, Woki, Tsada-Kirstian and Beleza are obtaining bus service.
