Three books inaugurated

Asmara, 23 March 2015 – A book “Hiwot Gedli” narrating the victory of the struggle for independence, ‘Lula” recounting identity crisis and love, as well as a book on practical guidance for painting have been inaugurated on 21 March at the Expo Hall.

During the occasion, the author of “Hiwot Gedli” said that the book narrates the hardship the Eritrean people in general and women in particular have to go through during the colonial period.

Mr. Solomon Tshaie who presented the book review explained that the “Hiwot Gedli” recounts the adversity and distinctiveness between the living conditions in the cities and the armed struggle, and that the book which is based on true story has hit its target as intended.

Mr. Asfaha Teklemariam, the author of “Lula” also indicated that the book is about a 20 years old lady who doesn’t know her parents and the challenges she faced in the course of her endeavors to find her identity.

Mr. Solomon Berhe in his book review said that the book sheds light on the culture and values of the Eritrean society, and that it is unique for it is written in the form of drama.

The author of the book on practical guidance of painting, Mr. Tadesse Kahsai, on his part stated that the book has been the first of its kind, and expressed his hope that it would help especially the young painters in developing their profession.

Mr. Edwardo Araia, commenting on the book indicated that a book accompanied by practical guidance has been the first in its kind, and that it would have significant contribution in the development of painting in the country.
