Over 1,200 students graduate from EIT

Asmara, 04 July 2015 – A total of 1,283 students from the Eritrean Institute of Technology (EIT)  graduated today with Masters, Bachelor Degree and Diploma in the fields of Engineering, Science and Education. Senior Government and PFDJ officials, religious leaders, members of the National Higher Education Commission and parents participated in the graduation ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, said that Eritrea looks at education as a cornerstone for development and nation-building.  In connection with the fact that 40% of the College graduates in the country are females, he explained that such a phenomenon attests to the growing competitive spirit of females in the pursuit of higher education.

The Deputy President of the EIT, Prof. Tesfamichael Haile, indicated on his part that the Government continues to make substantial investment for the development of the Institute.

According to available data, a total of 10, 901 students graduated from the Eritrean Institute of Technology over the past eight years.

Asmara Community College graduates 440 candidate teachers

Asmara, 04 July 2015 – Asmara Community College today graduated more that 400 candidate teachers with Diploma and Certificate out of whom 326 are females.

The Director of the College, Mr. Alem Gebrekal, said that the graduates pursued the courses with zeal, coupled with with systematic approach towards achieving the set goal. Similarly, Mr. Petros Hailemariam, Director General of Human Resource Development at the Education Ministry, explained that priority attention is being given to the task of promoting the professional capacity of teachers.

Over 167 students graduate from Donbosco Technical School

 

Dekemhare, 01 July 2015 - A total of 167 students graduated from the Dekemhare-based Dombosco Technical School, with certificate.

The fields of training comprised repair of vehicles, wood and steel works, electricity and electronics, among others.

This year’s graduates are the 12th batch from the Technical School.

21 students graduate from Halai Technical School

Asmara, 29 June 2015 – The Asmara-based Halai Technical School today graduated 21 students with Certificate. They pursued a 2-year course in General Metal Works.

Mr. Tesfai Syoum, Director General of Vocational Training at the Education Ministry, stated that the school is making significant contribution in nurturing skilled youths. A representative of the graduates expressed readiness to live up to expectation.

It is known that 84 students graduated from Halai Technical School over the past three years

446 students graduate from Denden Commercial School

 

Asmara, 28 June 2015- A total of 446 students have graduated on 27 of June from Denden Commercial School in certificate in the domains of Mathematics, Secretarial Science and Book Keeping.

In a speech he delivered at the occasion, Mr. Tesfai Seium, Director General of Vocational Education at the MOE, said that the Government of Eritrea is making substantial investment to produce professionals in various fields of education.

He further called on the graduates to strengthen participation in the nation building process with dedication.

The representative of the graduating students on his part expressed appreciation for the opportunity they have been provided and expressed resolve to diligently serve the Government and people.

Asmara College of Health Science graduates 416 students

Asmara, 27 June 2015 – A total of 416 students, 40% of whom are females,  graduated today from Asmara College of Health Science with Degree and Diploma. They pursued studies in patient care, pharmacy, public health and health assistance.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony within the premises of Asmara University, the Minister of Health, Ms. Amina Nurhusein, explained that the GOE continues to exert endeavors to expand educational opportunities.

Prof. Berhane Girmai, Dean of the College, stated on his part that the graduating batch are expected to serve the people with dedication.

More than 2,000 students have graduated from Asmara College of Health Science since its opening in 2005.

150 students graduate from Mai-Habar Technical School

 

Mai-Habar, 26 June 2015 – A total of 150 students have graduated from Mai-Habar Technical School at the certificate level. The students attended a 2-year practical and theoretical courses in Mechanics, Building, Drafting, Electronics, Plumbing, General Metal and Wood Works, Electricity and Surveying.

Mr. Tesfai Siyum, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training at the Education Ministry, expressed his hopes that the graduates will live up to the high expectations placed on them in the various work places.

Around 3,600 students have graduated from Mai-Habar Technical School with Diplomas and Certificates so far.
