Vital infrastructural facilities put in place in connection with Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil

Massawa, 06 February 2015 – Mr. Kidane Woldeselasie, Administrator of Massawa Port city, indicated that the Administration has invested over  a total of 22 million  Nakfa to colorfully mark the Silver Jubilee Commemoration of Operation Fenkil , including  infrastructural facilities.

He explained that expansion of water and electricity services, renovation of roads and making available toilets are part of the undertakings accomplished.  Mr. Kidane went on to highlight that water supply facility made available from Dogoli to Massawa at an expenditure of 2 million Nakfa and the erection of 200 additional electricity poles at 6 million Nakfa are among the major work accomplishments.

The City Administrator further called on social service-rendering institutions to provide quality service to the participants of the Silver Jubilee Commemoration of Operation Fenkil.

Land allotment to begin in Central region, Says Administrator

Serejeka, 06 February 2015 – The Administrator of the Central region, Maj. General Ramadan Osman Awliyai, said that land allotment for residence  would begin in remote areas of the region. He made the statement at a meeting with representatives of Serejeka sub-zone. In the course of the meeting, the Administrator briefed the participants on the objectives of the Land Proclamation   and the prevailing public awareness thereof, among others.

Maj. General Ramadan further gave briefings regarding potable water supply projects, construction of schools and electrification   set for implementation this year.

In the process, due attention should be given to the task of proper allotment of the land to be distributed to the concerned citizens that would take into account future generations, experts elucidated.

The participants of the meeting expressed satisfaction with the latest initiative and that they would demonstrate the necessary cooperation in the process.
