Fwd:
it is with great sadness we announce today the passing of Mr. Mehari
Tesfaslasie. Please see brief Biography of Ato Mehari Tesfasilase

Our father Mehari Tesfasilase Tecklikiel was born to his mother
Tsegheweyni Debas and to his father Tesfasilase Tecklikiel on 12
February, 1942 in the Eritrean town of Senafe.

When he became of age, he married his wife, Timar Tesfaghabir and raised
eight children to adulthood. He also became a loving grandfather of
fourteen grandchildren.

Mehari loved his family and country and was an active member of the
Eritrean struggle for independence. He played a key role in liberating
800 freedom fighters from Sembel prison in 1977. The same year, he
joined Eritrea’s independence movement.

In 1981, Mehari and his family immigrated to the United States; first to
Chicago, IL and then San Bernardino, CA, where he devotedly served the
Eritrean communities of both cities.

Our father, ‘Wedi Girazmach’, as he would like to be remembered, an
Eritrean patriot, a devoted father, passed on September 17, 2014.

Thank you for your support in this difficult time.
Timar Tesfaghabir and family
