*Press Release: 10th Annual YPFDJ & PFDJ II Conference Washington D.C.*
The Annual YPFDJ & PFDJ II Conference in North America was held in
Washington D.C. between August 28th 2014 and August 31, 2014. The
conference was held under the theme of “Culture and Identity”. Several
chapters prepared cultural performances which added color to the event and
created a lively environment.
Young Eritreans came from all corners of North America to participate in
the 10th Anniversary of the movement. More than 27 YPFDJ and PFDJ II
chapters across North America came together to discuss their progress over
the year. Mr. Yemane Gebreab on his part gave a brief update on current
affairs and answered questions from the participants via phone.
This year’s conference was especially unique given it was the 20th
anniversary of Sawa and because of the participation of our dear friends,
Mr. Glen Ford, Dr. Charles Cantalupo, Mr. Emilio De Luigi, Mrs. Rosieda
Shabodien and Dr. Samuel Mahaffy.
