Asmara, 04 July 2014 – In a message it conveyed in connection with the
40th Anniversary
of Bologna Festival, the Government underlined that the event marks a
significant chapter in the history of nationals residing abroad.

Conveying the message, Mr. Woldenkiel Abraha, Minister of Local Government,
pointed out that the primary objective of Eritrea’s leadership sought the
nurturing of a country on the basis of identity, as well as citizen values,
besides a strong and prosperous nation, in line with the fundamental
objectives of the armed struggle. He further noted that Bologna Festival
had significant input in this regard.

Indicating that it is vital to recall the course traversed and the
historical victories registered vis-à-vis evaluating the challenges being
encountered today, the Minister underlined that the Eritrean people should
always bear in mind the perpetrators of the ongoing animosity comprise the
same foes of yesterday. In this connection, he said that the anti-Eritrea
conspiracies being weaved in diverse guises include sanction, economic
conspiracy and migration of youths, among others.

Mr. Woldenkiel went on to explain the Eritrean government’s resolve to
withstand enemy conspiracies spearheaded by the US administration in
complicity with other hostile quarters.

Moreover, he made note of the endeavors being exerted as regards enhancing
popular participation in the political process, reinforcing the PFDJ and
ensuring sound administration, as well as management, in addition to the
steps being taken towards formulating a constitutions anchored on the
values of the struggle for independence and the experience acquired in the
post-independence era.
