Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch in Southern region extends over
110 million Nakfa towards improving community’s livelihood

Mendefera, 30 December 2014 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare
branch in the Southern region indicated that it has extended over 110
million Nakfa this year towards improving community’s livelihood. The
beneficiaries comprise a total of 38,438 martyr’s families, disabled,
orphaned and needy citizens.
The disclosure was made at a meeting in Mendefera city in which
representatives of the Ministry at sub-zonal level took part. In a report
he presented at the meeting, Mr. Haile Gebremichael, head of the branch
office, stated that Eritrean nationals residing inside the country and
abroad have been making similar contribution to this end. The Administrator
of the Southern region, Mr. Efrem Gebrekristos, expressed readiness to
fully cooperate in the aforementioned tasks.
Also in closing remarks, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, Minister of Labor and Human
Welfare, underlined the significance of providing support to needy families
so as to enable them become self-supporting.
