Is cycling Africa's next big sport?

31 July 2013

The victory of Kenyan-born British cyclist Chris Froome at this year's Tour de France could be the catalyst the sport needs to really take off in Africa.

Riders from Eritrea, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo are already beginning to draw international attention.

A new book, titled Land Of Second Chances, suggests that a rider under an Africa flag will win the Tour de France within the next 10 to 15 years.

BBC Africa's Peter Okwoche asked its author, Tim Lewis, how strong African cycling is at the moment.
