One week, you feel like you could change the world. And you have enough energy to pull it off,
A week later don't have the energy to get out of batt clean your house , to make your own break fast, and It is hard to believe things will ever get better.

Mood swings are a normal part of everyday life. But for people with bipolar disorder(manic-depressive illness), the swings are much more dramatic. They can strain relationships and make life difficult at home, work,or school.

Bipolar disorder affects 3 out of every 100 adults. It affects people without regard to age, race, ethnicity, gender, education, or occupation. No one really knows what causes bipolar disorder, but scientists believe one reason is that chemical in the brain are out of balance.
when chemicals called neurotransmitters, which moves messages from one nerve cell to the next, get out of balance, this affects the way we experience moods.

In the depressive state, you might feel sad and hopeless. Things you used to enjoy don't seem like fun anymore. Some people they think it is part of aging but it is not. If it was part of aging, you could not see 80 year old dancing.

The manic state, Symptoms of mania are, in many ways, the opposite of clinical depression.
You could have lots of energy and not need much sleep.Maybe take big risks or go on spending a lot. You might become very talkative, You might plan overly complicated projects and set unrealistic goals. Or you might feel unusually irritable and have racing thoughts.

With the right medication and support, bipolar disorder is treatable. Working closely with your doctor and staying on your medication is a good place to start. you and your family may also want to talk with a therapist to help you learn effective coping skills. In that way you can save your marriage and stay to gather with your family. You will manage your moods, you will experience more freedom and you will have the satisfaction of a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Don't ignore your illness !!! See your Doctor.
