EAAA to invest over $50,000 nakfa on Eritrean National Cross Country Championships
EAAA is going to cosponsor Eritrean National Cross Country Championships to be held on February 22nd of 2009. EAAA handed 12 medals of gold, silver and bronze and $35,000 nakfa last Friday to Eritrean Sport Commission. EAAA will also invest $15000 nakfa in three Zobas of Southern Red Sea, Northern Red Sea and Anseba.
The event is going to be held in Sheeb, a historic Eritrean place. Sheeb has a similar climate as Aman, Jordan where the World Cross Country Championships is going to take place. That is why Eritrean Sport Commission chose this special place.
Hellen Tesfamariam, EAAA Advisory Board member, delivered the medals, money and EAAA official letter to Eritrean Sports Vice Commissioner, Br. Gen. Tekie Russom. Hellen will also travel to Sheeb to witness the nation's highest Cross Country Championships.
EAAA thanks Eritrean Sport Commision for laying a conducive enviroment for EAAA to play its small role in Eritrean Athletics and for allowing it to cosponsor this national cross country championships.
