Press TV ban receives widespread condemnation
Like other parts of the world, Press TV is also popular in Pakistan.

While its transmission is available on the satellite, most of the viewers
in the country rely on internet to watch Iran’s English-language news
channel.

The main reason of Press TV’s following in Pakistan is its unbiased
coverage of events dominating the global scene.

Therefore, the recent move by the European Union to impose financial and
travel restrictions on two senior directors of Press TV has invited strong
reaction from many Pakistanis.

The ban on Press TV’s CEO and Newsroom Director is being seen as part of
well-planned strategy by the west to suppress the voice of truth.

Reacting to the ban, a respected Pakistani journalist says western powers
always blacklist journalists, who try to show the real side of the story.

Not only ordinary people, but Pakistani politicians have also condemned the
EU’s decision.

They say attempts by Western countries against Press TV show their double
standards about their claims on freedom of expression.

Pakistani politicians also suggested that Muslim countries should get
united to challenge the western dominance of the world media.
